Dragoslav Djordjevic from San Francisco, one of the founders of the Serbian Unity Congress was awarded "Zivojin Misic" prize, which was presented to Miroslav Michael Djordjevic by the mayor of Mionica in person. This is the biggest award one can get in this part of Serbia, and is usually given to those providing extraordinary help of general importance to the society and people of this region.

The family of Dragoslav Djordjevic originally comes from Mionica. This prize was awarded to him for helping rebuild the school and church in his hometown. His son and also one of the co-founders of the Serbian Unity Congress, Miroslav Michael Djordjevic, joined him in this highly inspiring deed by donating a large sum of money for painting the interior of the Temple of the Lord's Assumption in Mionica.

The "Zivojin Misic" award was handed over to Miroslav Djordjevic at the premises of the SUC Office in Belgrade. The award was presented to him by the mayor of Mionica, in the presence of Milos Jevtic, a journalist and author of the book of conversations held with Dragoslav Djordjevic and published under the name of "Over Mountains and Seas", and in the presence of the members of the SUC Belgrade Office. One of the people present at the award was also director of the agricultural cooperative "Bojkovcanka" which is well known for producing excellent Serbian brandy from the slopes of the Mount Suvobor. He has recommended this brandy as a perfect exporting article to people in Diaspora and gave one bottle to Mr. Djordjevic as a present and sample.
