On January 26, 2004 marking the religious and national holiday - St. Sava's Day, and two centuries since the beginning of the First Serbian uprising, a celebration was held at the Belgrade's Sava Center honoring the Serbian spiritual and state foundation. The celebration was organized by joint effords of the Christian Cultural Center, Studenica Foundation of the Serbian Unity Congress, Foundation "St. Andrew first-named", GEPS (Group for the economic revival of Serbia), and healthy food production company "Bambi" from Pozarevac.

The introductory speech was given by His Eminence Bishop Ignatije (Midic) of Branicevo, and the celebration was attended by the most eminent representatives of the Serbian Orthodox Church headed by the Serbian Patriarch Pavle, as well as the most eminent state officials, members of the religious communities, members of the diplomatic corps and people from the public and cultural life of Serbia. A group of the renowned football players from our country, now playing for famous Spanish clubs, who initiated the action for donating a large sum of money for the finishing of St. Sava's Temple in Belgrade, were also present at the Academy. They made a special trip from Madrid to Belgrade just to be present at the celebration of St. Sava's Day and to hand over the large sum of money they had collected to the Patriarch Pavle. Among them were our renowned football players - founders Predrag Mijatovic, Savo Milosevic, and Slavisa Jokanovic.
