Member of the Serbian-American Congress - SNO from Chicago Awarded Scholarships

At the ceremony held on the St. Sava's Day at the Belgrade Palace Hotel, President of SNO, Mr. Slavko Panovic awarded scholarships to twenty students from Serbia, Montenegro and Republic of Srpska. The ceremony was attended by the representatives of the SUC Belgrade Office and by many other guests and media people.

Scholarships in the amount of $500 each, were awarded for the first time this year. Conditions for the scholarship contest were following: average grade over 9, and signing of the document stating that the scholarship winners will not leave the country after the graduation. They also had to present a document proving that they were baptized at the Christian Orthodox Church.

Serbian-American Congress was founded in Chicago on November 15, 2002 by the Serbian National Association, Serbian National Defense, and Serbian Unity Congress. The SAC was originally created for the preservation of the Serbian unity and protecting of the Serbian national interests and Orthodox church.
