On the occasion of the 60th anniversary of the rescue of American pilots in action called "The Air Bridge", the Belgrade SUC office was visited by three participants of the above mentioned operation: Mr. Arthur Jibilian, Mr. Clare Musgrove and Mr. George Vujnovich, one of the founders and most respected members of the Serbian Unity Congress.

They were visibly touched by a worm reception they have been receiving in Serbia these days. They talk with gratitude about the great adventure in the night between August, 9 and 10, of 1944, when the troops under the command of Draza Mihailovic transferred over 500 American, British and Canadian pilots, captured on their way back after bombing the oil refineries in Romania, to their own countries. This episode has been kept secret for a long time, since the communists who wrote the history of this period decided to conceal this undertaking carried out by the soldiers of Draza Mihajlovic. Even the American authorities were reluctant to talk about this event when they chose to side with Tito's partisans.

The SUC has also organized a meeting with the media for these war veterans.
