Serbian Unity Congress met with Prime Minister of Serbia Vojislav Kostunica

The Prime Minister of Serbia, Mr. Vojislav Kostunica, met with Mrs. Mirjana Samardzija, President of the Serbian Unity Congress, and Mrs. Slavka Draskovic, Director of the Belgrade Office of the Serbian Unity Congress.

During a constructive and friendly meeting they discussed the Serbian diaspora in the United States. They also discussed the work of the Serbian Unity Congress and the importance of the Serbian Voice project in Washington. The Prime Minister is aware of the Serbian Unity Congress’s efforts to encourage the diaspora to get involved in the economic development of Serbia. Mr. Kostunica also acknowledged the Serbian Unity Congress’s work on a project for development of new technologies, establishment of a Technology Center in Serbia, and other projects.

Both parties well understand the importance and significance of the diaspora. Mrs. Samardzija and Mrs. Draskovic expressed gratitude to the Prime Minister for sending his annual greetings to the Serbian Unity Congress annual conventions. They hope this will continue and that the Prime Minister will personally visit the diaspora in all its regions, not only in United States, but in Europe, Canada, and elsewhere.
