 We had a great event. We had the opportunity to meet with Senator Voinovich, Senator Menendez, Senator Feingold, Congresswoman Bean, Congresswoman Ros-Lehtinen, State Department Deputy Assistant Secretary for European and Eurasian Affairs, Rosemary DiCarlo...and many others.
We conveyed to them the message of the Serbian American community. We presented the rationale for reinforcing Serbia’s role as a leader in the region, and the need to assist its efforts to provide a better future for our people.
We asked for their support of Republic of Srpska (House Resolution 1052, "Recognizing the importance of the signing of the General Framework Agreement for Peace in Bosnia and Herzegovina", introduced by Congresswoman Bean and Congressman Burton), protection of monasteries in Kosovo and Metohija, return of refugees to Kosovo and Metohija, and their support for arresting war criminals from the Second World War (Senate Resolution 3007, "World War II War Crimes Accountability Act of 2008", introduced by Senator Gordon Smith and House Resolution 6094, 'World War II War Crimes Accountability Act of 2008", introduced by Congressman Israel).
